Odd point of fact, Sue Dean is my step-mother. It's always strange to see her name out in the world. She taught me many things while we were thrown into the same life together. Some of those lessons can be found in these books. There are four all together. I can't remember the names of the other two but they all have essentially the same tone and message.
Love yourself. Love your life. Love your fellow travelers in this world and don't be afraid to show them that love. Accept change, hardship, fortune and folly all with the same awareness and open spirit and you will live truly well.

She also taught me how to make an exceptional snickerdoodle, how to break rules and still appear stylish and how to walk in heels. Unfortunately, these lessons are not found in this or the other books. For that you have to go straight to the source.
